The term transgender (or just "trans") describes people whose gender identity and assigned sex at birth are different. This term can describe a wide variety of identities - trans women, trans men, nonbinary people, and many other communities use it to describe who they are. The transgender pride flag was created in 1999 by Monica Helms. It features five stripes in three colors - baby blue, pale pink, white, pale pink, baby blue - and these colors have the following symbolic meanings:
Baby blue ~ Traditional color for baby boys
Pale pink ~ Traditional color for baby girls
White ~ all those who are in the process of transitioning, are nonbinary, or are intersex
